A graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz with a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology, he combines scientific knowledge with extensive cold-water and research diving experience to create safe, engaging, and memorable dive experiences.
Through UCSC, Woods completed extensive scientific diving as part of marine ecology research, including underwater surveys in Monterey Bay’s kelp forests and an independent research project focused on black and yellow rockfish habitat use and behavior. He has also volunteered as a diver with the Monterey Bay Aquarium and previously taught youth through the Aquarium’s Underwater Explorers program.
