Sidemount Rec Diver
Discover the balance and efficiency of sidemount scuba diving with your Aqua Safaris dive instructor. Many divers find sidemount tanks are more comfortable and easier to put on in the water. Sidemount diving is also beneficial for divers who want improved balance and prolonged dives.

The PADI Sidemount course is designed to familiarize you with a different style of diving. Orignally developed for cave and cavern exploration, sidemount has expanded into the world of recreational and technical diving. Tanks on your sides rather than your back reduce lower back fatigue and can help prolongue your dives. Tanks can easily be donned in the water, eliminating the need to carry your full kit across sand or onto the boat. This course focuses on the equipment needed, how to configure it and set it up for your personal physiology rather than the "one size fits all" mentality often found with back-mount diving.
