I was certified at Aqua Safaris Scuba Center in Open Water, Advanced, and Rescue diving and went on to get Scientific Diver certified at UCSC. There I studied kelp forest ecology, more specifically the dynamics between urchin barrens and kelp forests, and kelp reforestation.
